READSBORO - Readsboro Glassworks will be open to the public and welcoming visitors to the studio Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2, from 10 am to 5 pm during the Vermont Crafts Council’s 30th annual fall Open Studio Weekend.
Mary Angus and Bill LeQuier, of Readsboro Glassworks, have been creating hand blown glass and glass sculpture in their Readsboro studio since 1983. Their glass is exhibited in many galleries and juried shows nationwide and is included in numerous museum and private collections.
On display and for sale during the Open Studio Weekend will be carved glass sculptures by LeQuier and Angus’s hand-blown perfume bottles and bud vases as well as the unique glass candy cane, icicle, and snowflake ornaments that the couple create together. New snowflakes have been added to the collection this year, including their 2022 dated snowflake. The public is invited to stop in to see their hand blown glass and glass sculpture and watch one of the glassblowing and sandblasting demonstrations ongoing throughout the weekend.
Readsboro Glassworks join 130 artists in 97 studios throughout Vermont that will be open during the statewide self-guided tour. Look for the bright yellow Open Studio signs directing visitors to each studio. The Vermont Crafts Council publishes an Open Studio tour guide with directions to participating studios. The guide is available free at www.vermontcrafts.com.
Readsboro Glassworks, #45 on the tour map, is located at 6954 Main Street, Route 100, on the lower level. For more information call (802) 423-7706 or visit www.maryangusglass.com and www.kwilliamlequier.com.
