READSBORO - After more than a year of isolation, Mary Angus and Bill LeQuier of Readsboro Glassworks are able to again welcome visitors into the studio.
Readsboro Glassworks will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday, June 19 and 20, from 10 am to 5 pm, as part of the Vermont Craft Council’s 28th annual spring Open Studio Weekend.
Angus and LeQuier have been creating hand-blown glass and glass sculpture in their Readsboro studio since 1983. Their glass is exhibited in galleries and juried shows nationwide and is included in museum and private collections. On display during Open Studio Weekend will be carved glass sculptures by LeQuier and Angus’ hand blown perfume bottles and bud vases, as well as the unique glass candy cane, icicle, and snowflake ornaments that the couple create together. Stop in to see their hand-blown glass and glass sculpture and watch one of the glassblowing and sandblasting demonstrations ongoing throughout the weekend.
Readsboro Glassworks joins 71 studios throughout Vermont that will be open during this statewide self-guided tour. Look for the bright yellow Open Studio signs directing visitors to each. The Vermont Crafts Council publishes the Open Studio map and guide, available at www.vermontcrafts.com.
Readsboro Glassworks, #41 on the tour map, is located at 6954 Main Street, RT 100. For information call (802) 423-7706 or visit www.maryangusglass.com and www.kwilliamlequier.com.
