The Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office dropped an aggravated murder charge against John Grega. In 1995, Grega had been convicted of murdering his wife Christine Grega while vacationing at a Dover condominium. In July 2012, post-conviction DNA testing of evidence collected during the investigation of the case indicated the presence of DNA from an “unknown male.” After serving 18 years of a life sentence without the possibility of parole, Grega’s conviction was vacated and he was released pending a new trial.
