A water system study in Dover recommended a $21 million project to consolidate the town’s public water systems. According to the study, Dover has the highest concentration of small public water supply systems in Vermont. Many of the condominium developments in the town were said to be served by inadequate water supply, some so poor that the state ordered the removal of fire hydrants. Many of the public water systems were in violation of state public drinking water regulations. The town planned to warn a series of public meetings on the issue.
