10 years ago:
Wilmington’s Bank Park won a Vermont Downtown Program Green Mountain Award for best public space improvement.  According to the Vermont Downtown Program, one of the reasons the tiny park was selected was because of its story of triumph over tragedy.  The park was built on the site of the historic former Vermont National Bank building, which had burned more than two years earlier.
