Michel Guite’s VTel was seeking federal funding for a $70 million optical fiber and and wireless network intended to deliver broadband internet to underserved areas throughout southern Vermont. The plan called for the construction of 17 wireless transmission towers in southern Vermont, allowing wireless providers to send more data to Vermonters at a lower cost.
