There was a rash of catamount sightings in the area, including two in the area between Old Ark Road and Look Road.  In both encounters, witnesses thought they might have seen a bobcat or lynx, but their descriptions didn’t match either of those wildcats – the descriptions matched that of a mountain lion.  In one of the cases, a sample of scat was recovered, however, when it was tested it did not provide mountain lion DNA.
