Wilmington Police solved two two-year-old burglaries thanks to a DNA match. In the process of breaking into one of several homes in the area, the burglar cut himself on broken glass. A sample was processed for DNA and the results were entered into a national law enforcement database. When a match was found, Wilmington police confronted the burglar, a Newport man, with the evidence. He confessed to both of the burglaries.
