During a visit to the valley by US Rep. Peter Welch, residents talked about successes and failures in the area’s flood recovery. North Star Pizza owner Steve Butler told Welch that “FEMA is a four-letter word that begins with ‘F.’” Butler said federal help didn’t come through for him, as a business owner or a homeowner. But Butler had high praise for local volunteers, organizations, and program coordinators, without whom he said he would not have been able to reopen.
