10 years ago:
Wilmington and Whitingham school board members began talking about the idea of an elementary school merger.  Five years earlier, the two towns merged their middle and high schools to create the Twin Valley Joint School District. Whitingham board member Ed Metcalfe told voters the boards were exploring whether an elementary school merger could provide better education, reduce cost, and solve facility issues.
