The valley was bracing for the 20,000 visitors, television crews, and 282 athletes expected to attend the Dew Tour. Competitors included hometown hero Kelly Clark.
A fire at a house on Main Street in Readsboro left two families homeless on New Year’s Eve. One of the families had been visiting friends and celebrating the New Year with friends and family, returning to find their house in flames. They called the fire department and firefighters arrived shortly, but the house was gutted in the blaze.
