10 years ago:
Windham County and other parts of Vermont were waiting for FEMA to tally the damage following a devastating ice storm that brought down trees, power lines, and even utility poles around the state.  The state threshold to qualify for federal aid was $1 million in damages.  With an estimated $500,000 in  damage to Readsboro Electric’s infrastructure alone, Vermont was sure to qualify.
