Local schools were on heightened alert after an individual made unspecified threats to school-age children. Police said the threats were general, and not directed at students at any particular school, but Wilmington, Whitingham, and Brattleboro schools took precautionary steps to lock down school buildings. Even after activities inside school buildings returned to normal, strict security protocols continued to be followed. No incidents were reported at any of the schools.
