Former POW tells of surviving German camp
MARLBORO- On December 31, 1943, Richard Hamilton left his West Brattleboro home and drove his 1940 convertible into town to join the US Army Air Force. He and many like him knew that the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor would call them to leave their families, their friends, and their livelihoods to take up arms against a mysterious and powerful enemy.
