Study of turbines’ effects on bears

WOODFORD - At a public meeting on Monday, Jaclyn Comeau, a wildlife biologist with the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, gave a presentation about the Deerfield Wind Black Bear Study. The study, which is ongoing, seeks to determine whether the region’s black bear population will be affected by the placement of the Deerfield Wind Project in and around a large concentration of beech trees.
