Hobart and William Smith Colleges
GENEVA, NY - Hobart and William Smith Colleges has named Wesley Capitani, of Dover, VT, to the fall 2021 dean’s list.  Capitani is a sophomore at Hobart College majoring in history and minoring in theater.  Students must attain a 3.5 grade point average to be awarded this honor. Capitani has also been admitted to the Teacher Education Program, which requires a ninth semester at the college and is dedicated to student teaching.

College of Our Lady of the Elms
CHICOPEE, MA - More than 525 students were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at the College of Our Lady of the Elms, including Tyler Morris, of West Townshend, VT. To qualify for the dean’s list, full-time students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher, without incompletes.

Tri-Honor Alpha Society
WORCESTER, MA- Gabrielle Beal, of Wilmington, VT, has been inducted into Alpha Alpha Alpha Honor Society, a national honor society recognizing the achievements of first-generation students, alumni, staff, faculty, and administrators. Beal, a member of the class of 2024, was one of 123 students inducted into the honor society’s new chapter at Holy Cross named Delta Omicron.
Tri-Alpha is one of 20 honor societies on the College of the Holy Cross campus. Founded in 2018, Tri-Alpha promotes academic excellence and provides members with a multitude of benefits, including opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, campus and community service, and the opportunity to receive mentoring from more senior first-generation students, as well as faculty, staff, and alumni who were first-generation students.
To qualify for induction into Tri-Alpha students must meet the following criteria: The student has earned at least 30 credit hours toward a baccalaureate degree; the student has achieved an overall grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale; neither the student’s parents, nor step-parents, nor legal guardians, completed a bachelor’s degree.

FIRST Tech Challenge Championship
VERMONT - Fourteen teams from throughout the state participated in the Vermont FIRST Tech Challenge Championship in March. Two individuals also were selected as finalists for the FIRST Tech Challenge dean’s list, a national leadership award, at the state event at Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg.
One of these invidivuals was Isaac Vernon, of Sunderland, who is a student at Burr and Burton Academy and president of the Manchester Machine Makers 4-H Club and FIRST Tech Challenge Team.
Dean’s list award finalists are nominated by coaches and mentors for their outstanding leadership abilities, teamwork, individual technical expertise and accomplishments in robotics. Any team member in 10th or 11th grade in North America is eligible.
