St. Mary’s raises donations for the humane society

On October 8 St. Mary’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church in Wilmington held a Blessing of the Animals Service to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron  saint of animals and the environment. More than $500 in donations were collected for the Windham County Humane Society, while pets received blessings and treats.  A check was presented by Lorrie Scimè, left,  to  Maya Richmond, executive director of the Windham County Humane Society.  St. Mary’s hosts this annual event to benefit this organization that does so much for animals and their caregivers.
