Rotary Club holds tour of local barns
DEERFIELD VALLEY - The Rotary Club of the Deerfield Valley held its third annual tour, “Barns, Live Music and Art,” on Saturday, July 16, raising close to $12,000 to help the local community.
Ticketholders got to see five local barns, including “The Art of Humor,” where Skip Morrow’s art is housed in a barn structure; a tour with Bill Adams, who had a wealth of history to share; and the Howe Community Garden, with farm-to-table samplings.
All enjoyed listening to live musicians at each location, several of whom donated their time in addition to their treasures. These musicians were Bas Duo, Bongobilly, Logan Boyd, Tom Carroll, Juno Quartet, Paul Fisher, and Trumpet Andy.
The work of 17 artists was showcased, mostly at the new Chez Nous Barn. These artists were Gail Anderson, Bobbi Angell, Leslie Brunn, Ann Coleman, Debra Dunphy, Kate Follett, Terry Hauptman, Jane May Jones, Hugh and Jeanne Joudry, Sharon Klass, Nancy Powers Libby, Skip Morrow, Kevin O’Hare, Nicki Steel, Ellie Roden, and Jen Violette. Many of these artists plus Joan Lovell, Mary Wright, and Jim McGrath donated items for an art raffle, for which there were a lot of excited winners.
