Ribbons rally support for cancer fight

WILMINGTON - Ribbons of teal and purple, sealed with a heart, have been showing up around the community this week. The colors are a nod to ovarian cancer awareness month, which is this month. The ribbons are inspired by Nicole Covey, of Wilmington, who is 28 and currently fighting ovarian cancer.
The ribbons are available at Shaw’s, WW Building Supply, The Cup ‘n’ Saucer, and Twin Valley Elementary School. According to Covey’s aunt Angel Colford, they will also be at Twin Valley Middle High School, and possibly the Jacksonville General Store, by the weekend.
