Revitalization grant for rural VT

VERMONT - The Preservation Trust of Vermont announces the opening of the 2022 Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization grant round. Awards of $50,000 to $100,000 will be made to preserve and restore nonprofit and municipally-owned buildings and community gathering spaces of economic and social significance in rural communities. A total of $525,000 will be awarded to nonprofits and municipalities in towns with populations of  less than 7,500 people.
Of particular interest are projects that aim to increase the economic vitality of a community through nonprofit ownership of general stores and other businesses or that bring new economic and community activity to village centers. Funds will be available for roof repair or replacement, structural repairs, window and door restoration, and fire safety improvements.
Applications will be evaluated based on regional distribution, variety of project type, community and economic development potential, and the capacity of the active, local working group.
The deadline for application is Wednesday, December 15. For more information and to apply visit www.ptvermont.org.
