Prison facilities are out of date, system flawed

When I polled constituents reading my email newsletter, asking what I should write about next, they voted for a view inside Vermont’s prison for women.  I appreciated the interest in this topic, which seems more relevant than ever.
Vermont’s prison system is brutal. We all want justice, and safety in our homes. The Vermont Department of Corrections plays an essential role in providing these.  Its work is also deeply flawed.
