Local author awarded Vermont Arts Council grant for new novel
NEWFANE - Local author Jessica Sticklor has been awarded a $4,000 grant in support of her novel-in-progress.
The grant was given by the Vermont Arts Council, which offers several annual grants to artists, including artist development grants, which artists can use to further their careers, and creation grants, which artists can use for the genesis of a creative work. The grant is considered highly competitive; according to the Vermont Arts Council, this year, 9% of the 225 eligible requests received was funded.
