WHITINGHAM- Established in 1899, the Whitingham Free Public Library is having a yearlong celebration of its 120 years.
“A library (libraria – Latin for books) is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life,” wrote Henry Ward Beecher, a famous clergyman and abolitionist of the mid-19th century and also the brother of Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.”
