High school students, speak out!
DEERFIELD VALLEY- The Deerfield Valley Lions Club is sponsoring their first Speak Out contest for high school students who live in the valley. Students in grades nine to 12 who attend school here, home school or schools out of town are eligible to participate.
The theme this year is “Achieving peace through kindness.” Participants will give speeches that will be four to seven minutes long. Judging criteria include effort made in addressing the theme, developing the theme, and expressing the points being made with clarity.Cash prizes are $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third.
