Community garden begins prep

Gardeners pose under new sign at Howe Farm.

WILMINGTON - Members of Wilmington’s community garden met on Saturday, May 14, to begin preparing for the growing season. Plots are offered free of charge to community members and a large part of what is produced will be donated within the community. The town of Wilmington has funded the addition of fruit trees and berry bushes to add to the existing vegetable garden. The garden would like to thank Dale Doucette for volunteering to build the new sign and Hope Etheridge for designing this project. Anyone who would like to become involved in the garden can contact Karen Horton at howecommunitygarden@gmail.com. There are one or two plots left to offer to community members.
