Apply for utility funding by October 24

VERMONT - Vermont electric utilities remind customers that help is available for those struggling to pay bills. Vermonters financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic can apply for funding to pay past-due utility balances. The funding is available on a first come, first served basis. The application deadline is Sunday, October 24.
Utility companies that are a part of this program include Green Mountain Power, Vermont Electric Co-Op, and the Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (VPPSA) Electric Utilities, among others. Members include Jacksonville Electric Company and the Ludlow Electric Light Department.
Funds are made possible through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and the Vermont Coronavirus Relief Fund.
Visit bit.ly/vtbills to apply. If renting, click “Renters, Apply Here First.” Homeowners and businesses can apply by clicking “Apply for VCAAP II.” Utility customers can also apply on the phone by calling (833) 295-8988.
Green Mountain Power also encourages those who are still past due to call them at (888) 835-4672. VPPSA customers who cannot attest to a COVID-19-related financial hardship but are still struggling to pay bills are encouraged to call their local utility to work out a payment plan.
