“Successful student portrait” design team

WILMINGTON - Windham Southwest Supervisory Union announced that they are developing a “portrait of student success,” a collective vision that articulates the community’s aspirations for all of its students.
The portrait of student success will be locally developed, but globally positioned. WSWSU is recruiting a dynamic portrait design team that is diverse and represents all aspects of the community, including students, to help co-design the portrait. Additional members of each school community - Halifax, Readsboro, Stamford, and Twin Valley - beyond those nominated by the school leaders and school boards are invited to join. The ideal portrait design team will have balanced representation from each of WSWSU’s schools and across the diverse roles of community members.
Members of the portrait design team will commit to attending four online meetings over Google Meet or Zoom, from 6 to 8 pm, to develop the vision. Through this process portrait design team members will work with local communities to ask what are the hopes, aspirations, and dreams they have for young people? What are the skills and mindsets children need for success in this rapidly changing and complex world? What are the implications for the learning experiences provided in WSWSU school systems?
The district plans to share its progress on the portrait of student success with families and community members at district and school-sponsored events. They also plan to create opportunities for feedback to inform implementation.
If interested in joining the WSWSU portrait design team RSVP by Friday, October 29. RSVP online at https://tinyurl.com/portraitdesignteam or contact Jo Anna Young, WSWSU executive project assistant to the superintendent, at jyoung@wswsu49.org or (802) 464-1300, ext. 119.
