WILMINGTON- What kind of inspiration does it take for someone to backcountry ski all 110 Vermont peaks above 3,000 feet in elevation?
“It being a bad idea,” says Spencer Crispe with a laugh. “ I’ve always been kind of attracted to ludicrous ideas. Anything that is objectively unreasonable and lacks common sense, I say, ‘I think I’ll do that.’”
Seriously, though, Crispe has accomplished a first for Vermont. He is the first person to ski all of Vermont’s 3,000-foot or taller peaks. He accomplished the feat on Sunday, January 5, when he skied Middle Jay Peak.
