A surprise ending to an unprecedented election
We’re guessing that not many people in the country realistically expected the race for president of the United States to be over by Wednesday morning. Media analysts, pollsters, members of both political parties, and average Americans were saying as late as Tuesday evening that it could take days to decide who would be the next president. Given what the country went through in 2020, an extended vote count seemed the most likely outcome.
