State officials should visit state more often

The governor came to the valley last week.  Gov. Phil Scott was here to sign a new telecommunications bill into law.  That he did the signing here in Dover, instead of in Montpelier or somewhere close to the state capital, made it a significant moment.
Scott visited because the bill, which gives rural communities the ability to own telecommunications systems and other items related to connectivity, was designed for small towns like those here in the Deerfield Valley.  He chose Dover in no small part because Rep. Laura Sibilia was one of the major champions of the bill.
