Giving voters choices

Tuesday, March 2, is Town Meeting day here in Vermont. But the day just won’t be the same this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. That’s because towns around the state have either postponed their meetings to a later date or fully committed to Australian ballots, with voting either done by mail or socially-distanced at a polling place. The traditional Town Meeting, with residents of a community packed into a town hall or gymnasium for hours on end just doesn’t make sense, given the reality that COVID-19 is still very much a threat.
