Officials call for caution, warn of COVID fatigue

MONTPELIER- Gov. Phil Scott opened his Friday, December 4 briefing with the bad news: the highest number of cases since the pandemic began.
“It’s clear the virus is widespread, and very active right now,” he said. “We’ve got to pay attention to what’s happening right before our eyes.”
Department of Mental Health Commissioner Sarah Squirrell described the latest public health initiatives deployed to address mental health impacts, and listed several phone and online resources for anyone dealing with increasing anxiety, substance use or thoughts of suicide.
