DOVER- On Monday, April 15, the Dover Free Library is having a ukulele jam for children ages 10 and up, and all levels of musical ability. (Children ages 8 and 9 may participate with parent or guardian in attendance.) Ukuleles will be available to borrow for this interactive workshop, however, experienced players who already own one should bring it to play.
Topics covered will range from basics (how to hold a ukulele, how to tune, finger placement) to more complex (cheats, strum patterns, difficult finger placement, rhythm) and together the group will play a song or two.
This recurring program is held on the third Monday of each month through June.
On Friday, April 19, from 1 to 3 pm, the library hosts Lego Challenge No. 13. The Legolympics event is for children age 7 to 13. There will be hands-on Lego building activities and competitions, stories, books, and games with prizes. Space is limited for these events.
