Two special holiday events

BRATTLEBORO- The Brattleboro Music Center welcomes the holiday season with two special events.
The music school student orchestras concert is set for Tuesday, December 10, at 6:30 pm at the BMC.  With more than 80 students of all ages performing, the event will feature the Tigers beginning strings class, two Celtic music class ensembles, the Youth String Orchestra, and the Music in the Schools string ensembles. For families or members of the community who are thinking about music lessons this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the BMC firsthand.
The program will wrap up with the BMC Music School String Orchestra playing selections from Bach’s Concerto in D major featuring Laura Vajda on piano; Carl Nielsen’s “Little Suite for Strings,” and the Vaughn Williams’ “Charterhouse Suite.”  The evening will end with a selection celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of the Beatles’ “Abbey Road.”
The BMC also invites the local community to join in on Friday, December 13, from 5 to 7 pm for the annual Holiday Open House.  This popular annual gathering for the community features musical performances, cookie and tree decorating, festive food, singing, and other fun.  All are welcome.
The events, at 72 Blanche Moyse Way, are free and open to the public. For more information call the BMC at (8020 257-4523 or visit bmcvt.org.
