Concert starts on a high note

WILMINGTON- New York City’s highly praised Village Light Opera Group returns on Saturday, July 20, at 4 pm for the 24th consecutive summer to perform “High Notes-A Musical Concert” at Historic Memorial Hall.
This fundraising concert is proudly presented by the charitable, nonprofit arts organization MHCA, based in Dover.   Performed by an all-volunteer chorus of 40 singers, this concert has long been a summer favorite of visitors and residents alike. The concert is the major fund raiser of the summer for MHCA. This year’s audience will enjoy songs from Broadway shows including Ragtime, “Guys and Dolls,” “Anything Goes,” “1776,” “Carousel,” and “The Boys from Syracuse”; old standards; Gilbert and Sullivan songs; and operetta selections by Lehar and Romberg.
The ticket price is $25 or free for children 12 and younger.  Pre-concert tickets are on sale at two locations:  Mountaineer Inn, 270 Handle Road, West Dover, noon to 6 pm daily, and at the MHCA Dover Theater, Wednesdays through Sundays during movie showtimes.  Day-of  tickets go on sale at the door starting at 3 pm (cash/check only).
For more information and directions call the Mountaineer Inn at (802) 464-5404.
