Women’s weekend offers a bit of something for every woman

WILMINGTON -Wilmington Works presents the third annual Wilmington Women’s Weekend on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27.
Start the weekend with a marketplace of women-owned micro-businesses at Historic Memorial Hall at 14 West Main Street on Saturday, October 26, from 11am to 3pm (free admission). Pick up an event guide, register for weekend events, and leave a question for the keynote speaker. There will be jewelry, woven items, art, and more, as well as free demonstrations by local wellness practitioners and service providers.
In the afternoon, choose from activities including a Paint and Sip class at the Wilmington Inn for $35.  Advance registration is required. On Saturday at 7 pm, Brattleboro-based style icon Stasia Savasuk speaks at Memorial Hall about her unique approach to “Style for the Everyday Gal.” Her message is about dressing for confidence and joy, and  is also about overcoming fear of failure, learning to stand in one’s power, and overcoming body shame. Tickets are available in advance at Wilmingtonworksvt.com  or at the door  for $12 in advance or $15 the day of.
Sunday offerings include a special morning yoga class led by Jill Sachs with live music by Brooke Woodside in Memorial Hall from 8:30 to 10 am. The cost is  $12. At 10:30, gather in the  West Main Street Parking lot (entrance at 20 W. Main Street) to carpool to Haystack Mountain trailhead for a group hike. This is a four-mile round trip hike of moderate difficulty; dress for weather and mountain conditions. Or, meet at Memorial Hall at 11 am for a guided walk around Wilmington’s Historic Walking Tour.
