WHITINGHAM- Spring has arrived and with it, Vermont’s annual Green-Up Day. On the first Saturday in May many towns throughout Vermont will receive a spring cleaning. Jacksonville and Whitingham volunteers should meet at the Town Hill playground Saturday, May 4, at 9:30 am, to select an area to green up.
This community event is a great family activity. It not only introduces neighbors and townspeople, but also teaches children to take pride in their town. The day will kick off with coffee and there will be a barbecue lunch at noon, generously sponsored by the Lions Club. Garbage bags will be provided.
