Teddy Bear Teas to welcome children

WINDHAM COUNTY- Each spring, 15  Windham County elementary schools open their doors to children age 5 and under, parents, caregivers, early educators, and teddy bears.
Children are invited to bring their favorite teddy bears (other favorite stuffed animals are welcome of course) for a short party called a Teddy Bear Tea.  Adults, children, and bears will meet staff, listen to a story or two, visit with other families and do a craft.  Special teddy bear cookies (made by RSVP Volunteers and Brattleboro Union High School students) and other snacks will be provided. These snacks are made possible through a donation from the Mary Meyer Corporation.
Teddy Bear Teas are designed to encourage an open and trusting partnership between home and school. They also are a chance for families to connect with their community.
The Teddy Bear Tea schedule for  area schools is:
Dover- Wednesday, April 24, at 9:30 am; Halifax- Tuesday, May 21, at  1 pm; Jamaica- Thursday, May 9, at 1:30 pm; Marlboro- Friday, May 10, at 10 am; NewBrook  (Newfane and Brookline) Thursday, May 16, at 1 pm; Townshend-Wednesday, May 29, at 1 pm; Twin Valley Elementary (Whitingham and  Wilmington) Thursday, May 23, at 1 pm; and Wardsboro Wednesday, May 8, at 10 am.
