Shop local, earn extra $$

Wilmington village businesses kick off a shop-local campaign Sunday, December 1, which runs until Christmas Eve.

Wilmington- Starting Sunday, December 1, holiday shoppers are once again invited to join in the annual “Eat, Sleep, Shop Local” holiday shopping campaign, sponsored by Wilmington Works along with the town of Wilmington event fund. Shop early, shop often, and earn rewards for keeping your dollars local.  From December 1 to 24, bring any receipt over $25 from a participating merchant to the Southern Vermont Deerfield Valley Chamber of Commerce and earn a $5 coupon that works like cash at all participating merchants. Coupons can be obtained by presenting receipts at the chamber office at 21 West Main Street during business hours. Coupons are subject to availability.
While at the chamber, participants are also invited to enter a raffle, with one raffle ticket granted per $20 spent. The raffle grand prize of $500 will be awarded following a drawing at 3 pm on December 24. Those wanting to join the giving spirit of the season can enter blank raffle tickets. A winning blank entry will mean that the grand prize will be donated by Wilmington Works to the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry.
