DOVER- Black Diamond Tree Service has received a grant from the Arborist Safety Training Institute to host an aerial rescue training workshop on Thursday, October 25. Tree care workers are encouraged to join Black Diamond Tree Service for this important training. The cost is free, however space is limited. Matt Carruthers from North American Training Solutions will provide the instruction.
When a tree care worker is injured or incapacitated aloft, typically crew members are the first to respond to an emergency and tree care professionals must know how to react.
The tree care industry association aerial rescue training program helps to protect workers and meet the aerial rescue training requirements mandated by ANSI Z133.1 and OSHA. This certificate program is designed to be used in combination with on-the-job training and practice so that crews have the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate an emergency situation and potentially rescue an injured tree worker.
This course is designed to educate tree climbers or aerial lift operators in the most likely scenarios where they may have to respond to an emergency while working at height. This course focuses on the importance of emergency action planning and emergency preparedness protocols in a high-angle environment.
This free workshop takes place on Thursday, October 25, from 8 am to 4 pm, at the West Dover Fire Department, 253 VT Route 100.
Participants must bring their own lunch. To register visit www.bit.ly/BlackDiamondTreeTraining, call (802) 464-3603 or email Jessica@blackdiamondtree.com.
