Readsboro Community Library to host special events throughout July

READSBORO- Through the month of July, the Readsboro Community Library is hosting a number of events.
Tuesday, July 17, at 10 am, the public is invited to spend some time with Michael Clough, of the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, and the turtles.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet some of the museum’s live animal educators for an up-close look at the incredible turtles.  Interactive demonstrations and engaging discussion are a highlight, with live turtles from the museum collection.  Participants will also get to watch a turtle swim, learn why snapping turtles snap, and meet an endangered Vermont turtle.
Wednesday, July 18, at 10:30 am is Gordon R. Holey and the Puppet Brigade. Holey has performed in over 20 states for thousands of children.
A graduate of Ohio State University’s Department of Theater, he has traveled across the country creating one-of-a-kind puppets for theaters and schools customized to their specific needs.  With his experience in puppet building and children’s educational entertainment, he formed the Puppet Brigade in order to bring his unique style of crazy interactive storytelling and larger than life puppets to schools and festivals anywhere.
Tuesday, July 24, at 10 am, award-winning environmentalist, master storyteller, and creator/co-author of “Keepers of the Earth” Michael Caduto, presents a powerful, entertaining program about renewable energy explored through science and the arts.
