Presentation on understanding diabetes
JACKSONVILLE- There will be a special Lions Club presentation focused on understanding diabetes on Monday, April 15, at 7 pm, at the Dumaine House Retreat Center, 267 Academy Lane.
Diabetes is a disease with potentially disastrous complications, including stroke, kidney damage, heart disease, nerve damage, and blindness. The good news is that with the right medication, diet, and lifestyle changes, most diabetics can enjoy a full and active life.
Certified diabetes educator Jill Robart, RN, will provide information and insight about the disease. Robart, who serves as the diabetes consultant for patients at SVMC’s Deerfield Valley Health Center, will also take questions from the audience. She’ll address diabetes risk factors and promising new developments in treatment and prevention.
This presentation is free and open to the public. For more information call Wanda Walkowiak at (802) 368-2020.
