Nursing program open house Monday

BENNINGTON- Castleton University’s nursing program will hold an open house from 10 am to noon on January 20 at Castleton’s campus at the Vermont Mill at 160 Benmont Avenue.  During this event, prospective students who are interested in the Castleton University nursing program will have the opportunity to learn about the program, application process, scholarship opportunities, and more.
Nursing department faculty will offer a tour of the facility from 10 to 11 am and representatives from the admissions office will be available to answer questions from 11 to noon. Attendees may drop into the open house any time from 10 to noon.
Castleton University delivers its nursing program at both its main campus in Castleton  and its Bennington campus. Both locations offer courses taught by Castleton’s expert faculty and provide simulation labs for students to supplement their learning through scheduled time for guided practice with faculty and unscheduled time for individual or group practice of procedures, skills, and nursing activities.
Castleton offers a four-year traditional track, a three-year accelerated track, and a two-year online RN-BS completion track.
Vermont anticipates a widespread nursing shortage over the next decade, which increases the potential for career choices for a Castleton nursing graduate. Many clinical affiliates offer tuition assistance for students who agree to work for them as an RN after graduation.
Southwestern Vermont Health Care has also made a commitment to offer employment to Castleton students who satisfactorily complete the BSN program, obtain licensure, and meet pre-employment requirements. Additionally, SVHC will provide assistance with payment of tuition debt of graduates who remain employed within the health system for a stated number of years.
The baccalaureate degree in nursing at Castleton University is approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. For more information or to register visit castleton.edu.
