Lookin’ to add a little green to your life?

Jerry Cloutier, Sally Wadsworth, Mike Cooney, Linda Gifkins, and Nancy Ferrucci show off some of the many colorful annuals and perennials that will be for sale at the 2019 plant sale in Wardsboro.

WARDSBORO- The Friends of the Wardsboro Library is sponsoring its annual Memorial Day weekend plant sale on Saturday, May 25, at 170 Main Street. The Wardsboro Library trustees will also hold their annual bake sale at the same location beginning at 9 am.
The plant sale features a large variety of hearty perennials, colorful annuals, shrubs, Gilfeather turnip seedlings, vegetables, and herbs, all reasonably priced for the one-day sale. Vermont Extension master gardeners will be present to answer gardening questions. A one-day-only raffle of select garden-related prizes is scheduled with winners announced at the close of the sale.
The Friends are once again sponsoring their annual “Best Raffle Ever” featuring a Vermont-themed quilt hand-crafted by Wardsboro resident Christy Foote-Smith. The quilt will be on display at the sale. Purchase raffle tickets at the sale, during library hours or print them at www.friendsofwardsborolibrary.org.
For more details and photos visit the Friends’ website. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Gilfeather Turnip Festival on October 26. The winner need not be present.
Admission and parking are free and both events will be held rain or shine. The annual plant sale is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Wardsboro Library, a nonprofit organization that supports the Wardsboro Public Library. For more information visit www.friendsofwardsborolibrary.org.
