Whitingham Free Public Library taking orders, offers online services

JACKSONVILLE- The Whitingham Free Public Library is offering outside pick-up and home delivery.
Due to recommended social distancing and to protect the community from COVID-19, the trustees of The Whitingham Free Public Library voted unanimously to close the library to the public and cancel all programs. The board of trustees will reassess re-opening to the public during a regular meeting on April 1.
Services will still be available through home delivery or outside pickup. Books, DVDs, magazines, and audio-books will be available to order on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am - 2 pm.
WiFi will still be available outside the building 24/7.
Online services will continue to be available, such as downloadable e-books, audio books, and the Vermont online library through the links at  www.whitinghamvt.org.

Dover Free Library will make deliveries, offers same-day pickup

DOVER- Due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Dover Free Library will remain closed until April 6.  The library will make home deliveries to the elderly and those in need.  The young and able can pick up their materials in the library’s foyer.  Use the outside dropbox to return library materials.
Patrons can requests library materials via email at john@doverfreelibrary1913.org or leave a message at (802) 348-7488.  Requests made in the morning will be available by 2 pm that day.  Requests made in the afternoon will be available the following day by 10:30 am, except Thursdays.   
The library’s digital collection is available via www.doverfreelibrary1913.org.  Call with questions or help needs with ebooks or eaudios.  
During the shutdown, a staff member will be on duty. 

 

Moore Free Library cancels events, offers patrons ebooks, audiobooks

NEWFANE- The Moore Free Library and Crowell Art Gallery are closed and all events are canceled until further notice, due to the coronavirus.
Online access to ebooks and audiobooks is available through GMLC/Overdrive and RB Digital and they can be accessed through the library’s website.
Both of these services allow users to either stream or download audiobooks and ebooks and are free to library patrons. Newfane or Brookline residents who would like to set up a free library account for the first time can also do so by phone or email.
The library has free, powerful WiFi available, which reaches outside. Patrons can park in front of the library, sit on the porch or bring their own chair to the front lawn (maintaining social distancing, of course) and use the WiFi.
There are also digital resources available from the library, such as Internet Archive (which has old movies and other videos) and Vermont Online Library.
