Harvest festival returns for 56th year

READSBORO- The fellowship group of the First Baptist Church of Readsboro, has  announced that the 56th annual Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, September 29, from 10 am to 1 pm.  
A variety of goods will be available for purchase including a food table of delicious homemade baked beans, breads, cookies, candy, and much more. There will also be a  Chinese auction offering adult and children’s prizes.  Arts and crafts, plants, and attic treasures of all sorts will be sold, as well as a  package raffle on a 10-foot kayak with paddle and life jacket.
A special children’s corner will feature a story, pumpkin craft, and pumpkin cookie, all for free. These events will be held in the historic Bullock building adjacent to the church on Main Street. Fresh produce including potatoes, pumpkins, tomatoes, squash, and mums will be sold on the church lawn.
A luncheon of chicken with biscuits, soups, sandwiches,  and desserts will be served in the church vestry from 11 am to 1 pm.
Donations are accepted and appreciated, and may be left at the church during the week. Pickup of donated items may be arranged by calling Norman at (413) 424-5446.
