Goblins and witches set loose on Main Street, followed by an afterlife party promised to wake the dead

WILMINGTON- Wilmington Works will be offering prizes for the best carved pumpkin on Halloween. Voting will take place during the annual Wilmington trick-or-treating event from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, October 31.
Carve a pumpkin at Memorial Hall on Sunday, October 27, from 3 to 5 pm. Wilmington Works has sponsored 20 pumpkins with members of the Twin Valley Wildcat Club on hand to help carve. All ages are welcome. Parental supervision is required for younger children. Some tools are available or feel free to bring some from home.
Can’t make is Sunday? Carve a pumpkin at home and bring it to Riverbank Park. Wilmington Works will accept pumpkins on Wednesday, October 30, from 3 to 5 pm, and on Thursday, October 31, before 12 pm. There will be instructions left in the park for entering pumpkins dropped off at other times.
Pumpkins will be lit on Halloween. Trick-or-treating is sponsored by downtown Wilmington merchants and runs from 4 to 6 pm. Stop by the park for some hot cider (courtesy of Shaw’s), and to vote for a favorite pumpkin. Following trick-or-treating, DVCP hosts their annual Halloween fun-fest at the Old School Community Center. Enjoy games and Halloween fun from 6 to 7:30 pm.
