Giving Tree has assistance for families

DEERFIELD VALLEY- It is the time of the year to ask for help in identifying families in need for the  holiday season.
The Holiday Giving Tree provides new warm clothes, new toys, and a food card for families for a holiday meal. Each referral will be called, asking if they want to participate in the program. If so, the parent will be asked for sizes and what the child may want for a holiday gift. All tags are written anonymously, placed on trees for the public to choose. The tags will have boy, girl, age, sizes or toy, a suggestion for a gift, directions where to drop off the gift and by what date the gift should be dropped off. The tags are important because they tell what the family number is and will link the gifts to the right families.
This year Cathy Quigley has offered to spearhead this program of 25 years.  She, along with other associates at Twice Blessesd, will be doing all the leg work involved in servicing the nine towns of the Deerfield Valley, including Halifax, Jacksonville, Whitingham, Wilmington, Readsboro, Searsburg, Dover, and Wardsboro.
Find the trees with the tags at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, East Main Street, Wilmington; Shaw’s on East Main Street, Wilmington; Twice Blessed, 45 Route 100 North, Dover; and if open, Betsey’s Dot’s of Dover, 1 Mountain Park Plaza, Dover. To reach Quigley call her at Twice Blessed at (802) 464-7500, 11 am to 5 pm.
The cut-off date is November 15.
