Food pantry still has groceries available
WILMINGTON- The Deerfield Valley Food Pantry will continue its twice-monthly distributions, but in light of the coronavirus threat, will be changing how customers receive their groceries.
Instead of each customer entering the food pantry and shopping for their groceries, all customers will be met outside the food pantry and will be registered. Pre-boxed groceries will be brought outside by a volunteer and placed in one of our wagons. The customer can then drive their car to the wagon to pick up the groceries. Two households will be served at a time, and customers are discouraged from generating a line, waiting to be served. Rather, folks are asked to wait in their cars until the customers being served have picked up their groceries.
Everyone will be served and pantry officials have purchased enough groceries for all. Questions may be directed to the food pantry by calling (802) 464- 0417.
