Avoid consumer fraud
JACKSONVILLE- Each year, scores of unsuspecting Vermonters are swindled out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. On Monday, March 18, at 7:30 pm, the Whitingham-Halifax Lions Club will host a community presentation on how to avoid becoming a victim of consumer fraud, online scams or telephone swindles.
Speaker Amy Schram, of the Better Business Bureau will help guests avoid the most common scams currently circulating in our community. Schram, who delivers close to 200 programs each year, will also answer audience questions.
Admission is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. The presentation will be held at the Dumaine House Retreat Center, 267 Academy Lane.
